Mayor of Mississauga - Interfaith Prayer Virtual Gathering - Feb. 1st

Sunday, January 30, 2022 4:09 PM | Anonymous member (Administrator)

A message from Bonnie Crombie the mayor of City of Mississauga:

I would like to invite you to join me virtually on Tuesday, February 1st as I, together with the Interfaith Council of Peel (ICP) will be hosting our 3rd Interfaith Prayer Event.

I am inviting leaders across our City’s 300 religious assemblies to join us in a virtual event to mark and celebrate UN World Interfaith Harmony Week. The theme for this year’s event is ‘Nurturing Diversity’ during the Year of the Garden. I would like to celebrate Mississauga’s diversity and embrace all the ways our City, and Region, is addressing equity and inclusion. Moreover, as 2022 is the year of the Garden we will explore benefits that gardening can have on the environment and climate change, as well as on our individual health and wellness.

We began jointly hosting an Interfaith Prayer Breakfast event three years ago. In the first year our event was a tremendous success as we had representatives from a breadth of religious communities across our City and Region share their spirituality and prayers with everyone. Since the pandemic, and to ensure everyone’s safety, I’ve continued to host this event virtually. This is still a breakfast event, so I encourage everyone joining to enjoy your meal along with me.

Event details are as follows:

Date: Tuesday, February 1st, 2022

Time: 8:00 am – 9:30 am
